Such a character. Always looked forward to his ‘special sherry’.
I will so miss his cheery waves across the street and his wonderfully dry sense of humour.

Alan was a family man who adored his children and grandchildren. It was lovely to watch him with them all. With a laugh and smile he made the most of every situation. He will be sadly missed by so many. With love and best wishes from Gina, Anita and Kevin, Lorna and Steve.

Alan or as I like to call him Pop’s was a big influence on me during the 35 plus years, I knew him. I can honestly say that I have only looked up to a hand full of people in my life. Pops was right up there, a father figure to me and the rest of the family a real gentleman. I will always remember Pops laughing so much one Christmas watching Peter Kay, he had tears running down his face. Memories that I will keep with me always.
